Bob Jones,
Is an accomplished lecturer teaching since 1976 and serving in the RAF
for over 30 years.
He was awarded the MBE for his work in support of the famine relief
in Ethiopia, which included a tour of over 700 lectures on his return.
Responsible for safety and standards of Cabin Crew training, he was
part of the 'Training Needs Analysis and Course Design Team'
tasked to review safety in RAF training, with specific responsibilities
to introduce Fire and Smoke Simulation equipment, and Safety Training
to meet the standards set by the Civil Aviation Authority. This resulted
in the introduction of modern teaching methods using computer based
and computer aided training. In 1992 Bob became the deputy Health and
Safety Officer at RAF Brize Norton covering all aspects of safety including
Control of Contractors, Hearing Conservation, Radiation Safety and Property
Renovation. A qualified lecturer in adult education, an NVQ assessor
and is registered as an approved and accredited trainer with the Chartered
Institution of Environmental Health, The Construction Training Industry
Board and the Suzy Lamplugh Trust for Personal Safety. He is a member
of both the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (MIISRM)
and the institution of Occupational Safety and Health. As a Technical
Safety Practioner (TechSP) he holds the National Certificates for Construction
and General Occupational Safety and Health. He is qualified as a Department
of Transport Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor, a First Aid, Food Hygiene
and Manual Handling Trainer with qualifications in Environmental Protection,
Fire Safety Training and Management, and is a Licentiate of the Chartered
Institute of Personnel and Development.
